Teach Windows to Read Mac

John Tyra | July 23rd, 2008

I’m a big fan of the folks over at LifeHacker.com and the articles they publish. Just yesterday they released a post about a nice little jem called HFSExplorer that allows a windows machine to read the HFS+ format. The reason this is pretty darn cool is that means you can connect your old (or new) mac HD to a windows machine via a USB adapter or other means and actually read the data.

This is excellent news for anyone in a support role, or in an environment that caters to both windows and mac based computers. Instead of having two seperate platforms for data recovery and repair, you could have a single platform to do both. Pretty nifty!

Lifehacker: Red Bull Anti-Radio Interference Shield

John Tyra | June 27th, 2008

Noticed this story over at lifehacker , and thought it was pretty amusing. Basically, someone got tired of the Bzzzz noise that their iPhone was making and decided to create something ‘low-cost’ as a solution. Granted, it works, but personally I’d be more worried that this solution would slice open my hand when I reached for my phone. But…that’s just me.

Thumbs up or thumbs down?
