AT&T Tethering Coming Soon; Really I’m not an iPhone owner, but I have hear the voice of others regarding the lack of this feature. Their answer? Jailbreak! A friend of mine was using his jailbroken iPhone just the other day to browse the web on his laptop, and it worked great…other than it drained the heck out of the battery. =)

Hopefully this won’t be another $20/$40/$xx nasty chunk of change added to the AT&T customer’s bill. We’ll see!

Some interesting items, there is no specification of text messages, as in do you get any or not. Also, the $30 has been confirmed for the data plan…but…do we get any texting with that? Check their site and see, leave a comment if I missed it!

Nice profit margin for Apple and AT&T both…if this PC World story is legit that is. (For the record, they’re referencing market researcher iSuppli as their source.) However, given the large volume Apple probably promised the vendors, it could be feasible. Granted, AT&T has not ‘officially’ said one way or another regarding how much the actual data/text plans will be for the new 3G phone. We can all bet that they will be making their fair share, thought, there is no doubt about that. As with all things tech, only time will tell…
