Parallels Desktop 4.0 gets a 50 percent speed boost over 3.0

John Tyra | November 11th, 2008

Parallels Desktop 4.0 gets a 50 percent speed boost over 3.0. I’m a VMware fan myself, but hey, I’ll take virtualization in any form that I can get it. If you are a Mac user, then this one is for you. =)

Yahoo in precarious position as its CEO beckons to Microsoft

John Tyra |

Yahoo in precarious position as its CEO beckons to Microsoft. Oh, how funny. Didn’t Yahoo jump through flames, declare war and sell their first born to prevent a Microsoft aquisition? And, yet, here they are months later crying to Microsoft about their situation. Personally, I have no pity, because they are only eager to do this now that the economy has been rough with them, not to mention that Google said “NO” to the proposed ad deal. We’ll see how this goes!

NVIDIA unveils first graphics card to use 4GB of RAM

John Tyra |

NVIDIA unveils first graphics card to use 4GB of RAM. Oh, wow — 4GB of RAM in a video card? That ~sounds~ good, but let’s be honest, that amount of RAM would only be useful if you were pushing a single 30″+ LCD or multiple 20″+ LCD screens. If not, then you could go down to a 1GB or even a 512MB and be perfectly fine. Still, cool stuff!

Of heartbeats and headphones | Editors’ Notes | Macworld. Yet another example of publishers/bloggers/etc NOT reading the entire article. Long story short: Magnets can mess with your pacemaker, regardless of if they are in headphones or a cup of coffee. Macworld’s article had a link to an article where the details were not included for their readers, thus forming a quick and incorrect conclusion.
